Mathoor Mana is one of the ancestral homes of our family, situated at Panjal, near Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur district, Kerala. It holds a special place in the history and heritage of our family, serving as a significant link to our ancestors and the generations that followed.
Over the years, different branches of the Mathoor family have established their homes in various places. Today, family members are living in Panjal, Peringode, Thrissur, Thrikkadeeri, Nellaya, Kunnamkulam, and Villadam. Though the family has spread across different places, the ancestral connection with Mathoor Mana continues to bring everyone together.
An important part of the family's spiritual and cultural heritage is the worship of Vettekkorumakan, the presiding deity associated with Mathoor. The Mathoor Vettekkorumakan Temple, situated near the Mathoor tharavadu at Panjal, continues to be an important place of worship for the family and devotees.
Every year, the family observes the traditional Paattu for Vettekkorumakan with devotion and reverence. This annual celebration is not merely a religious ceremony; it is also an occasion that keeps alive the family's ancestral traditions and provides an opportunity for members of the extended family to come together.
